Testimonials
‘Dr Lewis has the rare ability to create impactful networks and partnerships to deliver projects, while also being true to the process of honest, caring co-creation with the people her projects engage with.’ - Dan Thompson Studio
The value of this work that Kat is doing is clear from the frontline, when people leave sessions they are changed, there is a looseness in their bodies. And with the production of this book we will be able to connect with a wider audience who will be able to relate to and better understand the everyday lives of asylum seekers and refugees in the UK.’ - Migrants Organise
‘Dr Lewis is brilliant. She handles groups with a wonderful degree of care and aims projects far beyond the scope of many artists, making work that actually starts conversation. In a world full of inauthentic voices looking to exploit vulnerable groups to attract funding, Dr Lewis backs up the talk. We need more Dr Lewis's!’ - Kent Poetry CIC
‘I love working with Dr Lewis for her genuine focus on community building and especially raising the voices of asylum seekers and refugees. Her ideas are ambitious and she has the tenacity to carry them through.’ Co-relate
‘It was a pleasure to work with Dr Lewis on Statement of Asylum: Remix. For my area of involvement she succeeded in striking a perfect balance between providing clarity and direction, while also creating the space to experiment. In a quick turnaround project, Dr Lewis assembled a great team who were all a pleasure to work with, and I'm very glad to have been involved.’ - Studio Jon Spencer
‘Dr Lewis is amazing to work with. She’s trauma informed and puts the people she works with at the centre of what she does. She creates safe, creative places and the results she produces lift people and share their unique voices while protecting their privacy. She’s amazing.’- Kent Refugee Action Network
'We worked with Kat again this year on our creative writing English Pen project for our Sixth Form students. We are always delighted to be working with Kat as we know the students will have a really positive creative writing experience and that even our students who are nervous about writing and lack confidence will come away feeling proud of the work they have produced. Kat’s style of facilitation provides a supportive and friendly environment. Students are helped, in a very interactive and fun way, to explore their writing techniques. They are helped to explore how to build character, setting and plot. In just 2 workshops our students had produced a number of good quality poems and flash fiction pieces. These workshops help our students to gain so much confidence in their writing. Kat’s feedback really does give the students the confidence to write more, to share their work and to explore new ways of writing.’ - Newham College, East London
