Fundraising & Grant-Writing
Dr Kat Lewis - Founder of Undertow - is an expert in securing funding for creative and community-driven projects with nearly two decades of experience In 2024 alone, she raised over £100,000 through UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), Arts Council England (ACE), and Social Enterprise Kent (SEK).
She has a deep understanding of the funding landscape and knows how to craft compelling applications that align with grant criteria and create lasting impact. She likes working with people and organisations who have not undertaken funding applications previously or who are unsure if their project was fundable.
Kat works with universities, charities, non-profits, and individual artists to help them navigate the complexities of fundraising. In addition to working across the literature and culture sector, Kat works extensively with health-based charities and organisations to drive.
Whether it's securing grants, developing fundraising strategies, or identifying the right funding opportunities, she mentors individuals and organisations to turn ideas into funded projects.
Her approach goes beyond just winning grants—she ensures projects are sustainable, impactful, and connected to wider networks of support. If you're looking to secure funding for your initiative, Kat can provide the guidance and expertise to make it happen.
‘Dr Lewis has the rare ability to create impactful networks and partnerships to deliver projects, while also being true to the process of honest, caring co-creation with the people her projects engage with.’ - Dan Thompson Studio
